Cadence Cup Round 1: A Battle of Worthy Opponents

You all are impressive. No really. Like, just super great.

A special thanks to everyone who participated in Round 1 of Cadence Cup. Many of you were able to create amazing projects where you could create a digital object that could be shared via a special NFT Minter on Flow. Some of our favorite projects were:

The winner of Cadence Cup Round 1, and the glory it brings (an amazing Cadence Builder Kitty) was @MaxStarka, who was able to create a Shadowrun inspired game in Cadence that uses resources in surprising ways. In Max’s game, users create characters that can hold many different kinds of items, all represented by resources. Other users can create games that characters can play, where they travel between different locations, find interesting clues and items that unlock new locations.

Max’s entry was particularly impressive, among other great ideas and projects, because it made the most of Cadence’s full feature set. It was able to generate utility functions to do things that aren’t even implemented in the standard library yet!

Mackenzie, on our team, said, “Awesome.”

There are many options when minting new resources and users can also create new characters with different attributes. There is a lot of promise with this project and we’re excited to see where it goes!

We were extremely impressed with all the projects we saw in Round 1 and are excited to see what you come up with for Round 2 of Cadence Cup. Check out the new challenge here.
